Redesigning the “Overlapping Shifts” User Experience on Mobile
Case study
With user-centered approach, the goals was to create an intuitive interface for effortless workforce management while incorporating gamification.
Problem
If Worker A clocks in at 10:30 AM, the system can’t tell if they are 30 minutes late for Shift 1 or 30 minutes early for Shift 2.
The Goal
Allows the worker to select which shift they are on in the app, so that the system can allocate them to the right shift in the timesheet.
Challenges
Due to the capability limitation from the system, the Helpster app couldn't allocate work to the right shift in the timesheet if a client is creating an overlapping shift in the SR.
Method
Designing a system where it can display the shift options, allowing workers to select a shift that match their job that day
Result
After 3 iterations of the prototype and test in Indonesia, I finally meet the goals and confidence to bring the prototype and test it to the Thailand market. I went to Bangkok with the final version of the prototype.
