Overlapping Shifts Confusion
Workers often faced challenges when clocking in during overlapping shifts. For instance, if a worker clocked in at 10:30 AM, the system couldn't determine whether they were 30 minutes late for Shift 1 or 30 minutes early for Shift 2. This ambiguity led to inaccuracies in timesheets and payroll processing.

Before: System Limitations
The existing system had limitations, particularly in handling overlapping shifts. Clients could create overlapping shifts in the scheduling system, but the app couldn't accurately assign work to the correct shift in the timesheet. This discrepancy necessitated a redesign of the user interface to accommodate such scenarios.

After: Interactive Shift Selection
The primary objective was to develop an intuitive interface that allowed workers to select their active shift upon clocking in. This feature would enable the system to accurately allocate time to the correct shift, reducing errors and improving overall efficiency. Adopting a user-centered design approach, I focused on creating an interface that was both intuitive and efficient. The team incorporated gamification elements to engage users and make the shift selection process more interactive. Through three iterations of prototyping and testing in Indonesia, the design was refined to meet user needs effectively.

Successful Market Expansion
The final prototype was tested in Bangkok, Thailand, where it received positive feedback from users. Post-implementation, Workmate reported a 25% reduction in timesheet errors and a 15% increase in user engagement within the first three months. These improvements not only streamlined operations but also enhanced user satisfaction and trust in the platform.
